A few things worth knowing before you call.
Most people reach out when something at home already feels stressful. These quick answers are here to make the first call easier.
Do you do repairs as well as replacements?
Yes. Repair is often the right answer when it will solve the problem well and hold up the way it should. When replacement makes more sense, we explain why and walk you through the options.
What kinds of problems do you help with?
Common calls include no cool air, no heat, weak airflow, uneven temperatures, unusual noises, systems that run nonstop, and older equipment that is starting to feel unreliable. If the system seems off, it is worth asking about.
Where do you work?
Wiegand & Sons is based in Muskegon and works with homeowners across West Michigan. If you are not sure whether your location falls within the current service range, give us a call and we will let you know.
Are you available after hours?
Yes. The phone line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If a furnace quits on a cold night or the AC fails during a heat wave, call or text any hour. If we are on a job and miss the call, we will follow up as soon as we can.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Wiegand & Sons is a licensed and insured HVAC contractor in the State of Michigan. That coverage is in place every time we step into a home.
Should I call even if the system is still running?
Yes, especially if it is not keeping up, is freezing over, is making new noises, or is behaving differently than usual. Those early signs are often easier to solve than a full breakdown.
What should I have ready when I reach out?
The basics help most: what the system is doing, how long it has been happening, and how urgent it feels. If you know the brand, model, or age of the equipment, that can be useful too, but it is not required.
Is it better to call, text, or use the form?
For urgent issues, call or text. That is usually the fastest path. The contact form is a good option for non-urgent requests or if you would rather write out the details first.
How do you decide between repair and replacement?
It depends on the condition of the system, the cost of the repair, how often the equipment has been having trouble, and what is likely to serve the home best over time. We explain what we are seeing so you can make an informed decision.
Will you give me a straightforward recommendation?
That is the goal. We believe homeowners deserve a clear explanation, realistic options, and room to decide without being rushed.
Some situations are worth addressing sooner rather than later.
If one of these is happening, it is a good idea to reach out promptly.
Even a short phone call can help you understand whether something sounds urgent and what to do next.
Call soon if you notice:
- —No heat in winter. Especially when outdoor temperatures are low.
- —No cool air during hot weather. Comfort problems can escalate quickly.
- —Burning or electrical smells. Turn the system off if needed, then call.
- —Water where it should not be. Around the unit, furnace, or nearby lines.
- —New loud noises. Banging, grinding, or screeching usually means the system needs attention.
A quick call is usually the fastest answer.
Tell us what the system is doing, and we will help you understand what may be going on and what is worth doing next.
